Even if you run a home business online, it can still be time-consuming. You have to write and publish your content, create email and marketing campaigns, and these days if you’re not marketing on the social sites, then you only have half a business.

To help you work less and enjoy your life more though, you can automate much of your Home business, and it’s not that hard to do. The best part is that you can also purchase your tools inexpensively and have them do the work for you. Here’s how to get started:

1. Create squeeze pages, sales letters, and blogs to promote your home business content.

The biggest mistake you can make in building your business is to allow yourself to get trapped in the web mastering business. What I mean by this is that you are constantly changing your sites because of the latest trend or the latest script or whatever. Find a site-building plan for you that works.

I own about 14 domains right now. Everything is built on a WordPress platform. Squeeze pages and sales letters are written in HTML. I have one blog as part of my “empire.” Since I use a content management system to primarily run my Home Business, I can not only future posts, which allows me to automate Home Business, but I can also focus on creating good content for my readers and customers.

My squeeze pages and sales letters work as little sales machines for my Home Business, and they are always available online so that my customers can access them at their convenience. It takes very little effort for me to run this. Usually, I have to update my WordPress installations about once a week, and it takes about five minutes for everything.

2. Use email to follow up with prospects.

There are many good autoresponder systems available for you to use to market your business. These systems allow you to add your emails to go out when you want them to, so you can schedule campaigns as you create them. You can automate all your Home Business email campaigns months in advance. You also have the option of creating email courses, as well as loading your autoresponders with material that can be sent out at regular intervals to those who join your list.

Now, let me emphasize what I am about to say: When you set up your autoresponders you only want to create double opt-in lists. What this means is that you want to create lists that subscribers have agreed to join and that they have confirmed their subscriptions. There are lists available on the internet you can buy, but I would avoid this. Much of what is sent out is spam, and unless I am on someone’s list, and I know the lists I’m on, I delete it. This means that whoever sent me spam just wasted his/her time sending me an email.

3. Use submission tools to help you distribute your content.

One of the biggest ways to automate your Home Business is through the use of submission tools. I’m not talking about tools that spam your content all over the place into random places. I’m talking about targeted tools like article submission tools or video submission tools. Legitimate companies will submit your content to the right sites and allow you to schedule when you want to send out your content.

They specifically target your content to the appropriate sites, so if you are submitting to article sites, your content only goes to article sites. Examples of this type of tool are Submit Your Article and Traffic Geyser, both highly rated in their industries (article submission and video submission).

4. Focus your business for maximum traffic and sales.

Having completely rebuilt the Home Business, one of the things I learned was that I was all over the place. I had 14 domains, with different types of sites, and I was marketing affiliate products as well as my own products and participating in MLM. I had to tame this mess into a business I could run in just a few hours a day and have plenty of time to do all the other things I love.

So I rebuilt everything from the ground up. Then I refocused my income streams with my products as the core of my Home Business. Then I developed a content strategy that would both help me market as well as build my sites. Recycle and reuse.

When first starting your business, it’s a good idea to pick one business model and work that model until you are making money. Next, develop additional streams of income. Starting out though, keep it simple. For example market affiliate products using article writing or some other marketing technique. Consistency is the key to your success here.

Work less and earn more by following this system. It will allow you to grow your business without any extra work.
